ON April 3 the Coppergate Riverside planning application submitted by Land Securities/Ravenseft Properties was "called in" by John Prescott. This means that the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, not City of York Council, will determine the planning application for Coppergate II.
Under normal circumstances, six weeks is given between the "call-in" date and the "cut off" date for representations or objections to be made.
The letter sent to me and many others who had previously sent objections was dated April 24, some three weeks into the six weeks available.
We would therefore urge people who wish to object to these planning proposals to write immediately to this address: Marcia Dean, The Planning Inspectorate, Room 3/17, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6PN. Quote application APP/C2741/V/01/000267.
Please note that any previous letters your readers may have sent to the Leeds office do not count and will not be passed to Bristol, including the 5,500 signatures we collected.
Three copies of the representation are required, preferably typed on A4 and not more than 1,500 words.
Stuart Wilson,
Castle Area Campaign Group,
Vesper Drive, Acomb, York.
