A mother-of-two found at her North Yorkshire home with severe head injuries was today described as "very poorly".
Sharon Fearnside, 36, was found at the bottom of the stairs at her home in Northfield Terrace, Church Fenton, near Tadcaster, by her husband, Michael, at 5.15am on Friday.
Mrs Fearnside, who has two daughters aged eleven and eight, was taken to York District Hospital.
Her condition was so serious, she was later transferred to Hull Royal Infirmary where she is still unconscious and said to be very poorly.
Detective Sergeant Dave Pegg, of Selby CID, said today their inquiries into the incident were continuing.
One Church Fenton resident said villagers had prayed for Sharon at Sunday morning's service at the parish church, St Mary's.
She said: "We are just hoping and praying that Sharon pulls through and there's a happy outcome."
