Shrewsbury Town welcome York City to Gay Meadow tonight with safety assured but still desperate to make a point.

When the two sides were due to meet last week - a waterlogged pitch saw the match postponed - Shrewsbury were still in need of a point make their status secure.

They failed to get that point on Saturday, going down 3-1 at Cardiff.

However, other results went their way meaning the Shrews, like City, are now definitely safe from the drop.

With little left to play for for either side the game could turn out to be a stale affair.

However, as Terry Dolan has insisted he wants to surpass City's 52-point haul of last season so his counterpart, Kevin Ratcliffe, is anxious his side reach their Holy Grail - 50 points.

Currently lumped with City on 49 points, another point would mean Shrewsbury have ten more points than the 40 they finished with last season, a sign of steady improvement according to Ratcliffe.

Given safety is assured Ratcliffe, however, could make changes after the defeat at Ninian Park.

Ratcliffe blamed goalkeeper Paul Edwards for two of the three goals scored by the Bluebirds and could be tempted to recall Ian Dunbavin between the sticks.

Left-back Greg Rioch, who was rated only 50:50 this time last week after suffering an ankle injury, played at Cardiff and came through unscathed.

Right-back Ross Davidson, who has missed Shrewsbury's last two games due to a family bereavement, could come into contention.

Shrewsbury Town from Dunbavin, Wilding, Redmile, Tretton, Rioch, Tolley, Peer, Murray, Aiston, Lowe, Jemson, Edwards, Jagielka, Rodgers, Drysdale, Hanmer.
