MORE than 400 young singers took part in the BBC North Choir Festival heat held at the McArthur Glen shopping centre near York.
Choirs from schools across North Yorkshire took part in the local heat last night and the winners will go through to the regional finals at Bradford on May 24 as part of the BBC Music Live weekend.
There were three winning choirs: Junior Voices choir from Riccall County Primary School in the primary school section; Invoice choir from Manor Church of England School in the senior school section; and the Semitones kids' choir from Scarborough won the community choir section.
