York Nomads' division one championship hopes in the York Sunday Afternoon League were ended when they drew 3-3 with leaders Clifton Hotel.
Fox, Newton and Bedingham were all on target for Clifton, who can still be caught by Drax and St John's College.
Nomads, who were indebted to some great saves by Danny Crampton, scored through Ian Davis and Jamie Agnew (2), who was making his last appearance for the club before moving to Spain. But the draw means they can not finish higher than second.
Cross Keys picked up four points from their two games against York Police, drawing 2-2 and winning 3-1.
Firking 103 took maximum points from their two matches with Bishopthorpe to move clear of the relegation zone.
John Gladwin scored the only goal in the first fixture, while Bissett and Moynihan netted in Firkin's 2-0 win in the second encounter.
Rookes United came from a goal down to beat bottom club Drum with goals by Steve Hickey, Rich Beddows and Jimmy Robinson. James Tong had given Drum the lead.
Saville AV took a step nearer the third division title after demolishing Haxby United Spartans 7-1, with Simon Collins (5), Hubery and Haywood on target.
It looks as though Wigginton will take the second promotion place after following up a 2-1 midweek defeat of Haxby Spartans to beat Woodthorpe Warriors 4-2.
With Cygnet already certain to finish bottom, the dogfight to avoid the second re-elected place is now between Rose and Crown and Central Science Laboratory.
CSL lost 3-0 to Acomb Athletic and then bounced back against the same opposition to draw 1-1, with Dean Kilbride netting for CSL and Michael Quintero on target for Acomb.
Rose and Crown are now two points adrift of CSL after losing 4-3 against Gimcrack.
