A sweet scent filled the air today as thousands of visitors turned out at the start of one of horticulture's biggest events of the year.
The four-day Harrogate Spring Flower Show opened its doors today at the Great Yorkshire Showground.
It is expected that more than 50,000 people will visit what is seen as horticulture's premier spring event of the year.
Music from Jazz Bands kept the crowds entertained today as they looked at the gardens and displays. This year, the North of England Horticultural Society, which organises the event, has been able to make use of the new flower hall which has brought most of the 400 plus exhibitors together, instead of some being in a separate marquee.
Tickets for the event, which finishes on Sunday, can be purchased on the gates, with prices varying between £9 and £12.
Gates open at 9.30am each day and close at 5.30pm with the exception of Sunday.
