PUTTING a new sign over the door had a special significance for York-based building consultants Lightly and Lightly.
"After 20 years of preaching the message about excellent site practice and safety at work, it was vital that we did the job properly for ourselves," said Tony Lightly, who got help from his partners John Denton and Richard Hampshire to complete the job at their Clifton Moor head office.
The recently-installed signs mark a new era for the successful chartered building surveyors, whose previously distinctive logo has appeared on sign boards on some of the region's most prestigious construction sites over the past 20 years.
A complete corporate identity change is designed to reflect the current nature of the organisation, with four distinctive businesses now operating under the well-known Lightly and Lightly name.
"We wanted to highlight the customer-orientated approach to business that we have always adopted as a firm - and to show that we have a wide range of expertise that businesses and individuals can tap into," said Tony.
In the same distinctive blue and green style, sub-brands include:
- Surveys First, providing independent building surveys
- Work Safe, helping businesses to cope with the growing labyrinth of legislation on workplace access and safety
- Project Solutions, delivering cost-effective project management
- The Consultancy, providing a range of professional services for all types of property, including conservation matters.
Recently Lightly and Lightly has been involved in a number of high profile projects across Yorkshire, including the new CPP building at Holgate Park, the new Norwich Union offices at Clifton Park, the new medical centre at Clifton Moor, and a range of projects at the University of York.
"It is business as usual under the new image, but hopefully with the new brands prospective clients will have a better idea of the range of services we provide," Tony added.
The new look was created by York-based design team The Partners Group.
