SHARPSHOOTER Lee Nogan has indicated he is willing to extend his Bootham Crescent stay beyond the end of the season, writes Dave Stanford.
Speaking at the fans' forum earlier this month, manager Terry Dolan admitted he wanted to keep the former Welsh international striker.
Now Nogan, who was signed only until the end of the season from Second Division Luton, admits he is hopeful of sticking around.
"I would like to stay here. We have had a chat about it and we will take it from there," he told the Evening Press.
"It is going really well for me personally and I couldn't ask any more from myself.
"I've enjoyed the games. Obviously it has been difficult because we went bottom but we are looking a half-decent side now.
"I'm sure we will go from strength to strength. We have lost just once in 13 games now so things are going well."
Nogan proved his worth to City during Saturday's thrilling 3-3 draw with his hometown club Cardiff City.
The 31-year-old bagged his sixth goal in 14 games since arriving from Luton and also earned City a first-half penalty.
Results elsewhere meant Cardiff sealed their promotion to Division Two and Nogan admitted their end of match celebrations had him casting envious eyes.
"It's nice to see your home-town club doing well and I always thought Cardiff would get promoted.
"I was nearly there with Darlington last year and I've got promoted with Grimsby in the play-offs and it is always nice to go up.
"It is a great feeling and hopefully York can push next season.
"We are in a precarious position ourselves and we needed to get at least a point.
"After coming back from 2-1 down I thought we should have won it but fair play to Cardiff because they came back at us."
