A DONATION of £600 was music to the ears of York's holiday youth orchestra, Yorchestra.
Because the money from the Inner Wheel of York Vikings will mean that it is even easier for children to take part in the musical activities organised by the group.
The cash will go towards bursaries for children so they can afford the travel expenses required to get to the Yorchestra sessions. Yorchestra meets every major school holiday for three or four days of orchestral and chamber music, master classes and workshops. The group is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year and its catchment area covers the whole of the region, with children coming from as far away as Ilkley.
