A multi-thousand pound bill for leisure services in York is expected to be settled today.
City of York Council's executive will meet to agree the coming year's programme of services to be bought from the city's voluntary sector.
They range from playgroups, special needs care and entertainment.
Among groups whose services are being considered is Clifton-based SNAPPY, which offers recreation for young people with special needs.
The group is expected to receive £28,000, the same amount paid last year, but almost half what the charity has requested. Last year, SNAPPY urged the people of York to help raise £60,000 to save two projects faced with closure after grant aid dried up. Despite a brave effort, its youth and senior projects had to close.
The money expected to be agreed today will not be enough to bring those back.
Other services expected to be paid for today include £22,000 for the Friends of St Nicholas Fields, in Tang Hall, and £41,000 for Bell Farm Adventure Playground.
After-school group Ready Steady Groves has been earmarked for £16,500, while York Playspace, in Clifton, would get nearly £33,000.
