I write in response to your article (April 18) about the recently-filmed episode of BBC's Casualty which draws close parallels to the Selby rail crash.
I wish to express my revulsion at such an insensitive move by the BBC.
Regardless of when the episode is to be screened, the scripting bears too close a relation to reality for the victims, their relatives and all those involved in the rescue operation.
Broadcasting this episode can only serve to further traumatise and offend those involved and to whet the appetites of those perverse individuals who find pleasure in such tragic and horrendous events.
The BBC should show a shred of decency and concern for the public - particularly for those who suffered - by axing this episode.
