IT'S not so much Puppy Love any more as setting middle-aged hearts a-flutter.
But if anyone in the music business is daft enough to think pop is only for the young, Donny Osmond is proving them wrong.
Back in the Seventies the fresh-faced star, famous for his dazzling smile, wowed a generation of lovestruck girls with songs like Puppy Love, Too Young and the Twelfth Of Never. Now the country is in the grip of Donnymania again as the singer promotes his new album, This Is The Moment.
He has been on all the talk shows already, though rumours the nation has been reaching for the contrast button on their TV sets to dim that gleaming smile are said to be exaggerated.
Today, it is York's turn. Scores of screaming fans were expected to gather outside Radio York as the singing star was interviewed by Jerry Scott. "I just can't believe there might be a chance of a glimpse of him," one fan said.
