York City reserves suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Lincoln City in their penultimate Avon Insurance Division One fixture.

City were punished for a sloppy start, falling behind to a goal within the first 20 minutes, said manager Terry Dolan.

Although City, featuring Everton trialist Michael Price, improved after the set-back they failed to force a breakthrough.

Craig Skinner, back at City after winning an appeal against his dismissal by the club, played the full 90 minutes.

Sheffield Wednesday reserves take on Leeds United at Bootham Crescent tonight (7pm) still looking for their first victory of the season in the FA Premier Reserve League.

A mixture of injuries and a small first team squad at Hillsborough have forced Wednesday to field teams made up largely of the club's under-19 players.

However, former Celtic midfielder Simon Donnelly is poised to play his first full 90 minutes of the season tonight.

Donnelly has been out of the first team for 14 months with a series of hamstring troubles but last week played 45 minutes for the reserves and was on the bench on Monday as the first team drew 1-1 with Fulham.

Tom Staniforth, son of former City player Gordon, is unlikely to feature for the Owls tonight having missed much of the season through injury.

Included in the Leeds starting line-up are Jacob Burns, Tony Hackworth and Kevin Dixon, who had a spell on loan with York City at the beginning of last season.

Leeds United (probable): Danny Milosevic, Alan Maybury, Gareth Evans, Kevin Dixon, Shane Cansell-Sheriff, Jacob Burns, Simon Johnson, Tony Hackworth, Paul Keegan, Wesley Boyle. Subs: Fraser Richardson, Chad Harpur, Jamie McMaster, Harpal Singh, Thomas Newey
