A PEDALLING paramedic is a brilliant idea. In the narrow, traffic-choked streets of York two-wheels are often quicker than four.
In many city centre emergencies, when minutes matter, Mark Inman will be able to get there quicker than an ambulance.
And, his patients will be delighted to know, his bicycle carries much more than just a pump and a bell.
As well as the blue flashing light and siren, it is fitted with all manner of life-saving equipment, including a defibrillator.
The rest of the time, Mark will offer advice and support for the public as a pioneering community paramedic.
He is a welcome addition to our cycling city.
