It was a tale of two Amy's for Tadcaster Swim Squad in the fourth series of the Yorkshire Championships at Harrogate.

Selby and District Sports Council Young Sportsperson of the Year 2000 Amy Clayden achieved her third county championship title.

She took first place in the girls 14-years 50metres backstroke to add to her 100m and 200m backstroke titles achieved over the previous two months.

Clayden also added to her triumphs with a sixth place in the 50m butterfly and, swimming for the first time in competition, eighth place in the 200m butterfly, plus a reserved finalised position in the 100m individual medley.

In light of her achievements over the recent series of Yorkshire Championships she was also awarded second place in the British Age Group Point System making her the second top all-round swimmer in Yorkshire for the age group 14 years.

Another swimmer to look out for is Amy Costello, who swam a very determined 200m breaststroke event where she gained a well-deserved bronze medal in a good personal best time.

County double champion Peter Webster, despite missing the last series of the Yorkshire championships, was awarded second swimmer in the men's backstroke categories.

Team-mate Hannah Weld also showed promise by joining Clayden in the final of the 50m backstroke, narrowly missing her national qualifying time.

Anna Martin took a seventh place in the 200m butterfly for 16 years, while the ever-improving Stuart Prior took seventh place in the 200m backstroke for 14 years with a very positive swim.

Adam Milner, Tom Davies and Laura Dryden were all reserved finalists for their events.

Chasing her national qualifying time Anna Horwell narrowed the margin yet again.

Andrew Cowan gained three out of four personal best times and Felicity Prior showed her continued improvement as a multi-distance swimmer.
