York City Baths Club swimmers had an outstanding outing in the Yorkshire Championships' Harrogate event.

They collected nine medals, 13 4th to 8th finalist placings and a massive 66 personal best times (PB) as well as two category runners-up.

Jenny Hoggard was runner-up in the women's butterfly category, collecting five medals and eight PB's.

She gained gold in the 200metres butterfly in the 16 years' age group and silver in the same event but in the women's open age, plus bronze medals in the 200 backcrawl with a six-second PB and 50m women's butterfly, also a PB.

Hoggard also claimed a PB in the 16 years 100m individual to add to eighth place medals in the 16 years 50m breaststroke and women's 100 individual medley. A final PB was posted in the 200m 16 years breaststroke.

YCBC's other gold medalist was Tom Southam, who won the 100m individual medley in a PB time to complete a double as he collected gold in the 200m individual medley in the previous gala.

He also collected a silver medal in the 50m freestyle in which he was pipped at the post for the gold by a very slim 0.04 of a second margin in another PB swim.

The other category runner-up was Hannah Petts in the Best Girl in the ten years' age group. A PB in the 100m individual medley gave her a silver medal.

The other medal winner was Alice Sunderland who won bronze in the 11 years 200m butterfly. She was also fourth in the 100m individual medley in a PB.

The other swimmers who just missed medals by finishing fourth to eighth were: 4th Alexandra Outhwaite 50m backcrawl; Mairi MacDonald, 200m breaststroke.

6th Sarah Kinnel, 100m individual medley in PB time.

7th Christopher Burns, 100m individual medley in a PB time; Andrew Fowler, 100m individual medley in a PB time; Mairi MacDonald, 200m breaststroke; Sarah Kinnel, 50m breaststroke; Jack Burgess, 200m backstroke in a PB time; Sophie Calpin, 200m butterfly in a PB time.

8th Rachael Eastough, 100m individual medley.
