KITKAT Chunky has been a massive success since its launch two years ago.
In fact, its sales are now greater than the traditional four-finger version of KitKat.
Now York confectioners Nestl Rowntree have brought out an orange chocolate version.
The limited edition product retails at 30p, just like the parent brand launched in April 1999.
"It's the first flavour variant
of Chunky although we've had the mini "Breaktime" bars in January 2000 and
the ice cream bar last year too," said a Nestl spokesman.
"The first KitKat flavour variant of all was orange four-finger in 1996 followed by Mint in 1997.
"We've chosen orange as the first variant of Chunky because it was so popular in four-finger."
The spokesman said Chunky now accounts for a greater proportion of total Kit Kat sales than the four-finger version.
