ON behalf of my severely disabled wife and myself, I thank York MP Hugh Bayley, and his patient staff, for their help in the reinstatement of my wife's Disabilities Allowance and my Carer's Benefit.
We experienced problems with the appropriate Government departments at a time when Mr Bayley's office was busy with the foot and mouth crisis and an imminent election - however, our MP still found time to intervene for us.
It is reassuring to know that despite his government and ministerial responsibilities Mr Bayley is committed to local constituency matters. Also a special thanks to HSBC, Heslington branch whose staff were very helpful at a difficult time.
I doubt other big banks would bother with insignificant accounts like ours, or offer the personal service such as my wife and I received.
