ARMED police were called out early today after a security guard at a North Yorkshire holiday site was threatened with a handgun.
Dog handlers and a number of unarmed officers were also dispatched to the scene but the suspect fled.
The incident happened at the Blue Dolphin holiday site at Gristhorpe, near Filey.
A North Yorkshire police spokesman said the security guard had been threatened by a man brandishing a black handgun.
"Officers from an armed response vehicle attended the site with local police and the dog section," he said.
"A search of the site was made but there was no trace of the suspect."
