It is a pity Karl Briggs has nothing better to do than cycle around North Yorkshire protesting his rights of access at a time when every livestock farmer is wondering if he will be next on the foot and mouth casualty list. (Anger over illegal 'No Access signs', April 2).
Surely when access is not normally restricted is it too much to ask for consideration at this time? Most people do sympathise with the farmer trying to protect his animals by maybe using illegal "No Access" signs on these little-used unclassified roads, especially when they run through farms. But there always seems to be someone who has no thought for anything but his own needs.
Thank goodness most people who enjoy the countryside have more consideration.
