Former Heworth Golf Club professional Neil Cheetham was today bidding to capture the lead in the second round of the Morroccan Open in Rabat.
He finished the first round in joint second place, one stroke behind Irishman Paul McGinlay, who carded a six under par 67.
Swede Michael Jonzon and America's Craig Hainline were all on five under with Sheffield-born Cheetham, 33.
Malton and Norton's Simon Dyson recorded a 72.
Cheetham (Barlborough Links), who needed on 23 putts yesterday, said: "I putted fantastic. I drove the ball OK, indifferent really, but my short game was great - as it has been all year." Both Cheetham and Dyson were among the later starters this afternoon in the second round.
