NESTL Rowntree will meet Severus WMC in the final of this season's John Smith's Bitter Cup on May 10.

Both clubs made light work of their opponents in the semi-finals, which were effectively over by half time.

Severus WMC built up a 5-1 first half lead against Marcia with goals by Moss, Kitson, Jones, Londsbro and Depa. Joe Depa got his second of the game and John Lake scored another in a 7-2 win.

All of Nestl Rowntree's goals came in a storming first half, Matthew Wain (2), Steven Drake and Simon Kehoe on target in their 4-0 win over Derwent United.

In John Smith's York Sunday Morning League the fixtures are being played thick and fast after all the postponements earlier in the season.

Pocklington won three games last week to take a four-point lead in division three. They started with a 3-0 victory over Wilberfoss, followed that with a 3-1 win at Bishopthorpe and then trounced Fulford WMC 5-0 with goals by Muir (2), Whitehead, Gibson and Bond.

Both Pocklington's promotion rivals, Blacksmiths Arms and Selby Olympia, faltered. Blacksmiths Arms lost 1-0 in midweek to a goal by Beech for Acomb Sports Club after earlier beating Wilberfoss 5-3 with goals by Hinds (2), Heels (2) and Griffin. Selby Olympia won 4-0 at BH Colts and then lost 4-0 at home to Bishopthorpe.

Acomb Sports Club scored their second win of the week by defeating Shape Shop 3-0. BH Colts came off the bottom of the table with a 4-2 home win over Nestl Flag.

Wigginton moved seven points clear at the top of division one with a midweek 2-1 win over Derwent United, Wash and Willis scoring. They then won 4-3 at home to Zafs, Wash (2), Matthews and Wilson scoring for Wigginton and Carter (2) and Bradley being on target for Zafs.

Bilham and Gaughan scored for Volunteer in a 2-2 draw with New Earswick, whose marksmen were Holmes and Hart.

New Earswick were glad of the point after having lost 5-1 in midweek to Nestl Rowntree, whose Matthew Wain hit a hat-trick.

Acomb WMC beat Middleton Celtic 3-0 in midweek and then had a more impressive 3-2 win away to defending champions Yorkshire Herald.

Herald had beaten Severus WMC 2-1 the previous Tuesday, Alcock and Mackie their scorers while McShane scored for Severus from the penalty spot.

Hounds picked up four valuable points in midweek with a 1-1 draw against Zafs followed by a 2-0 victory over Middleton Celtic, Barnett and Mitchell scoring.

Pack of Cards gave their division two championship hopes a massive boost when they beat their nearest rivals Marcia 4-0, Beddington (2), Ducey and Nelson scoring.

Pack followed that with a 6-4 win over Fulford Bay to move to the top. Their scorers were Ducey (2), Phillips, Brundrett, Gallagher and Beddington.

FC Magnet beat Riccall 4-1 with goals by Moulds (2), Harrison and Wilson.

In division four Beeswing won 1-0 at Wigginton GH but then lost 3-1 to Cygnet, whose marksmen were Lee Jarvis, Stewart Nichol and Mark Henderson. Wigginton GH followed their midweek defeat with a 3-2 victory over Derwent United Reserves.

The focus of attention in division five was at the foot of the table where Heworth drew 1-1 at home to Middleton Celtic Reserves, Parker scoring for Heworth.

Opticare are moving towards promotion from division six in their first season after two convincing victories, a 5-0 defeat of Knavesmire followed by a 4-1 victory at Shape Shop Reserves to go top of the table.

However, Volunteer Reserves still look title favourites after a 4-1 win over Burnholme SC with a Lee Bartlett hat-trick and a Lee Bond goal.

Wanderers moved off the bottom with a midweek 3-2 victory over Shape Shop Reserves, Worthington (2) and Gibson scoring for Wanderers, who followed this with a 3-3 draw against Beefeater. Cammidge (2) and Murray scored for Wanderers, Machin (2) and Cundall replying for Beefeater.
