Turtle Valley, at his best on soft ground, will be in his element at rain-sodden Kempton tomorrow as he lines-up for the Queen's Prize Showcase Handicap, one of four races being televised from the meeting by Channel 4.
The gelding, trained by Simon Dow, underlined his well-being at Nottingham 11 days ago when beating Yorkshire and Sarangani in determined style over an inadequate one mile and six furlongs.
Sure to be even better suited by tomorrow's two miles, and with ground conditions again in his favour, Turtle Valley, with Paul Doe on board, is napped to concede weight to all his rivals in this historic event.
Tom O'Ryan's Nap for tomorrow: Turtle Valley (4.10 at Kempton).
Superior Premium, trained at Butterwick, near Malton, by Richard Fahey, will return to action at Newmarket next week en-route to a tilt at the valuable Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Sprint on May 12.
The seven-year-old won the Cork and Orrery Stakes at Royal in fine style last year, and Fahey reports: "The horse is in very good form and the plan is to run him in the Abernant Stakes first.
"It is not really the ideal race for him as he gets a 10lb penalty, but there are not many opportunities for him and we want to get a run into him before we go to Singapore."
