York City striker Alex Mathie looks to have kicked his last ball of the season after limping from yesterday's reserve team draw with Blackpool.
Mathie, who has endured a stop-start City career to date, pulled a calf muscle in the 2-2 draw at Bloomfield Road.
City chief Dolan admitted he was resigned to being without the services of the experienced striker for rest of the term.
"I would imagine that that is his season over now," sighed the City boss.
Ironically, the fresh injury woe for the 33-year-old former Ipswich, Newcastle and Celtic striker comes just days after he told the Evening Press he was anxious for the season to end so he could get a full pre-season under his belt.
Since his September switch to Bootham Crescent, Mathie has made just 16 starts, scoring twice, having been hampered by hip and hamstring problems.
Teenagers James Turley and Leigh Wood scored the goals in the reserves' fightback from 2-0 down to snatch the draw in the final seconds.
Blackpool had taken a first-half lead through Junior Bent and went 2-0 up ten minutes into the second-half when Matthew Blinkhorn fired home a cross from former City favourite Steve Bushell.
Turley capitalised on a defensive mix-up before Woods snatched a point with a last minute equaliser.
City junior Chris Hogg skippered his country last night as England Under-15s beat the Czech Republic 3-1 in France.
The victory in Hogg and young England's first game in the Montaigu International Tournament came courtesy of two goals from Manchester City's Dorryl Proffit and one from fellow Blue Lee Croft.
England play Peru tonight with Hogg expected to be named among the substitutes.
