York completed a derby double against Pocklington by beating their close rivals 3-2 in the West Riding Ladies Premier League.
The score was an exact repeat of the last time the two sides met, though the inexperienced Pocklington team must have thought they were about to turn the tables when they took a two-set lead.
In the first set Pock led 9-3 only to go 18-16 behind as the more experienced York team scored nine points in succession.
However, Pock hit back to score seven in succession thanks to the powerful serving of Claire Trodden and decisive spiking and blocking of Victoria Eaton to win 25-23.
At 20-all in the second set, Pock captain Victoria Eaton blocked a York hit, then tipped the ball over the York defence to create a two-point advantage to set up a 25-20 win.
York went on to win the next two sets 25-17 and 26-24, despite Pock holding a 22-16 lead in the second, then Pocklington conceded the fifth at 15-5 to give York the victory.
York's strength in depth was the telling factor against a Pocklington team which have been playing together for just two years.
