City of York Hockey Club's junior section are celebrating their best-ever season.
There is still a chance that their Under-11 girls' side will be crowned national champions after qualifying for the finals at Cannock on May 20 as North of England champions.
Their success follows that of the club's Under-16 boys, who won the Yorkshire Youth league, North East of England championship and reached the quarter-finals of the RAF Youth Careers Cup.
They youngsters will receive their rewards from former England and 1986 Olympic gold medal winner Norman Hughes at an awards evening at the clubhouse on Friday, April 20 (7pm). Admission is £1.
The York club rounded off their season with the Under-19 boys taking part in the Ben Rhydding Colts' Festival.
William Sorby was on target as they drew 1-1 with Adel.
After a 0-0 draw with Ben Rhydding Arrows, York defeated Ben Rhydding Chargers 2-0 with a couple of Thomas Feasby goals, while Sorby's lone strike beat Ben Rhydding Bullets.
They eventually went down 3-1 to Almondbury, Feasby netting the York goal. Almondbury went on to beat Adel in the final.
Acomb enjoyed a 6-1 friendly win over Tadcaster.
Nick Linfoot gave Acomb the lead but Tadcaster levelled after a slip-up in the Acomb defence.
Acomb soon re-established control with goals by David Richardson and Jamie Robinson.
Linfoot grabbed his second after a shot from Dave Timmins was saved by the busy Tadcaster goalkeeper.
Richardson netted the fifth after a mazy
run and man of the match Robinson completed the scoring by grabbing his second goal just before full time with a fierce shot.
Ian Roberton was on target twice as champions Acomb III won 3-2 at Ben Rhydding to complete their Yorkshire League division season in style.
