I AM a father of two, live in a three-bed semi and drive a diesel estate car.

I work hard, get on with my neighbours, have short hair, no piercings and no tattoos.

But all of a sudden I seem to have sprouted wings, horns and a pointed tail. Why? Because I am 54 years old and ride a sports motorcycle! And shock, horror - it makes a bit of noise!

Yes, I did have an accident last year - 50 mph was not possible with silage spilt on the road - along with the mud we encounter every time we go out for a ride. Not to mention the young lady who pulled out of the side road, the countless car drivers who do not check their mirrors before overtaking, and don't know where the indicator switch is at roundabouts. I managed to avoid all these.

As for speeding, take a ride round the dual carriageway of York ring road at 70 mph, and see how many cars pass you going 20 mph faster, and more!

Yes, there are some nutters out there who ride bikes, but it would be nice if the police concentrated on bad drivers for once, instead of pulling bikers for noisy exhausts and small number plates. Perhaps we are just an easier target.
