Ticket-only admission will again be in force as a York nightclub stages another of its hugely popular young people's nights.
The ikon and Diva club, in Clifton Moor, was at the centre of controversy at the end of last year when tickets were not sold in advance for a young people's night and hundreds of junior clubbers were turned away from the venue after it reached capacity.
But an all-ticket policy was introduced for the last such event, in February, which cured the problem that had seen disappointed young people wandering the dark streets of Clifton Moor trying to find somewhere to ring home.
The latest young people's night takes place on Tuesday, beginning at 7pm and finishing at 10pm.
Ticket arrangements are different from last time as they will be on sale from the ikon itself, which will be open from 11am to 5pm every day except Sunday. Tickets will be available until 4pm on the day of the event, which is open to young people aged between 12 and 16, and cost £5 each, with a maximum of four tickets sold per person.
There will be no alcohol, cigarettes or chewing gum on sale and in addition to staff from the club being on duty, council youth workers will also be attending. Anyone wanting information about tickets should contact the club directly on 01904 693999.
