YORK is losing the equivalent of 12 teaching posts. Do you think this is true? The fact is that St Peter's School has been given an interest-free loan of £4.55 million pounds until the end of March next year by City of York Council.

The amount of interest in question is £273,000. It would appear that the city's schoolchildren are of no importance to the city council because this amount of money could have been spent on them.
