I congratulate the Flying Ducks Youth Theatre for their superb production of Return To The Forbidden Planet at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre.
This large group of ten to 18-year-old youngsters, with no formal training, deserve recognition and support for their enthusiasm and talent.
Also thank you to the dedicated director and group of parents and helpers who give their spare time to encourage these young people to do something positive with their leisure time and energies. I'm looking forward to their next production, West Side Story, next year.
Many thanks for a wonderful evening.

...WE attended the final performance of Return to the Forbidden Planet by the Flying Ducks Youth Theatre at the Rowntree Theatre and were impressed by the talent and enthusiasm of the company. The costumes were imaginative and colourful, the set was effective, the dancing well choreographed and the music was electrifying! It was great to hear some of the rock songs from my youth, such as Go Now, performed so brilliantly by these young people.
