RESEARCH is to begin on how milk can help humans in the fight against cancer. Funded by the Milk Development Council, researchers at Southampton and Reading universities will look at how conjugated linoleic acid, found in milk, can boost immune function and thereby reduce the growth of tumours. It is based on studies in which this group of fatty acids were found to have anti-cancer properties in mice and rats.
