Yorkshire's Australian batsman Darren Lehmann is one of Wisden's Five Cricketers of the Year in the 138th edition of the Almanack which is published tomorrow.
The dashing left-hander, currently taking part in Australia's one-day series in India before returning to Yorkshire for the start of the new season, was the country's top run-scorer last year with 1,477 first class runs at an average of 67.13.
The Wisden article on Lehmann has been written by The Evening Press's Yorkshire cricket correspondent David Warner and will be reproduced exclusively in Saturday's edition of the Press.
The four others in the list of Five Cricketers for 2001 are Mark Alleyne (Gloucestershire), Martin Bicknell (Surrey), Andrew Caddick (England and Somerset) and Justin Langer (Australia and Middlesex).
Wisden 2001's editor Graeme Wright stopped the presses in order to pay tribute to Sir Donald Bradman, who died only a few weeks' ago, and there are moving obituaries, also, for Lord Cowdrey and Brian Statham.
Wisden 2001 is published by John Wisden & Co and both the hard cover and soft cover versions cost £29.99.
