MAY I congratulate the English Youth Ballet for their performance of Coppelia at the Grand Opera House. To fit 101 dancers on the stage of the Grand was a feat in itself, but the performance the dancers gave was absolutely magnificent.
I have been to numerous ballets including Coppelia, which is one of my favourites, and have seen it danced by the Kirov Ballet. I would just like to say that the performance by the EYB was every bit as good.
The young dancers, whom I believe are from local dance schools, were impeccable in their timing, they were certainly challenged technically and artistically. It was an absolute wonder of choreographic management.
