Derwent United booked a place in the semi-finals of the John Smith's Bitter Cup exacting sweet revenge on a Yorkshire Herald side who had beaten them at the same stage of the Challenge Trophy only four weeks ago.
Once again it proved a tight game, Derwent winning 2-1. Nicky Cass and Neil Wilford were their scorers with Paul Dunn replying for Herald.
Second division Marcia caused the upset of the day when they beat first division Acomb WMC 2-1. Kieran O'Brien gave Marcia the lead, but Adie White equalised before half-time. The winner came in the second half from Chris Smith.
Nestl Rowntree needed extra time to overcome second division Magnet FC.
They took a 2-0 half time lead through Wain and Drake, but a spirited fight-back saw Magnet level courtesy of two goals from Darren Ward and one from Paul Downes sandwiching a Graham goal for Nestl.
Goals in extra time for Keogh and a second for Wain just gave Nestl the edge in a 5-3 victory with Martin Fairburn scoring Magnet's fourth.
In the league Wigginton staged a remarkable fight-back to earn a point in a 4-4 draw after trailing Volunteers 4-1 at half-time. Adam Wash scored twice with Gavin Dickinson and Paul Jennings netting Wigginton's other goals.
Hounds returned to league action with a 3-1 win over New Earswick. Cygan (2) and Matthews scored.
In division three Selby Olympia continued to lead the way with a 3-0 win over Black Horse, while Acomb Sports beat Wilberfoss 4-1.
Thorpe United stretched their lead in division four to nine points and kept their 100 per cent record with a 3-1 win over Wigginton GH with goals from Hays (2) and Wood.
A hat-trick for Fletcher and one for Harrison helped Jubilee Reserves to a 4-3 win at Raskelf Rovers.
Gary Scott scored his 100th goal for Black Bull in their division five 3-0 win over Boy and Barrel with Jonathan Sargent and Wayne Pink netting the other two. Zafs Reserves repeated their 4-3 success over Heworth with goals from Hudson, Radcliffe (G), Jamieson and Bradley.
Two goals from Andy Nicholson and a 25-yard free kick by Andy Robinson gave Enterprise MAFF their second division six win of the season in a 3-1 success at Wanderers. Driscoll was on target for the hosts, but the win moved Enterprise off the bottom of the table for the first time this term.
Volunteer Reserves completed the double over Beefeater with a resounding 5-1 victory, the goals coming form Stone (2), Bartlett, Fisher and Abraham.
