Thirteen York College students have been offered places at Oxford or Cambridge Universities.
The group come from a range of different schools and will now be working hard to get the grades they need.
Rose Price, careers co-ordinator at the college, said: "These students are living proof that Oxbridge candidates are now coming through from the state schools and not just from the private sector. "All thirteen students are keen to attain the grades they require and I know they will receive all the support they need from York College."
The students are: Simon Carmouche (ex-school Brayton High School), Nick Martlew and Rosalind Ashworth (Easingwold School), Emily Cornborough (Howden School), Jonathan Hunt (Hymers College), Tamsin Bush, Tom Cantrell and Lizzie Clarke (Manor CE School), Jamie Cooke and Alice Jones (Millthorpe School), Rob Montanari (Queen Anne School), Hannah Stower (St Peter's School) and Grace Manning (Woldgate School).
