A similar number of cattle were dearer on the week with prices better than expected.

A much larger entry of sheep, with quality very good overall, met a similar trade to last week. Best quality hoggets were slightly dearer.
Pigs: porkers to 91p (82.2p), cutters to 98p (72.9p), baconers to 82p (71p), overweights to 78p (57.6p), sows/boars to £150.78 or 45.5p. A much larger entry, selling to a top price of 98p. Best quality handyweights brought similar prices, though stronger pigs were more difficult to sell.
