SUCKLER cow producers in England will shortly be able to apply to the 2001 Suckler Cow Premium Scheme Quota National Reserve.
Agriculture Minister of State Joyce Quin MP said: "The national reserve application period will open on March 1 and will run until March 29. The combined application form and explanatory leaflet for the reserve will be available from MAFF Regional Service Centres (RSCs) from February 28 onwards. Producers who with to apply should request a copy of the form from their RSC from February 28 or May contact their RSC before that date to be placed on a mailing list. To be valid, completed application forms must be returned to RSCs no later than March 29".
New entrants into suckler cow farming and first time claimants who would have been eligible to apply to the 2000 SCPs national reserve, had it been held are 'exceptionally' being given the opportunity to apply to the 2001 SCPS National Reserve.
