Selby 77, only fielding two pairings in a York and District Badminton League ladies division one fixture against Rowntrees, went down 5-4 in a close fought fixture.
Gayle Bradley and Julie Smythe took three Selby wins in a good display, their best being a 3-15 15-11 17-16 over Emma Andrew and Joan Emmerson.
Huntington Ladies scored a 5-4 home win over Riverside in division two. Bev Tebbutt and Angela Hobman were Huntington's match-winners with three wins for 90-49, including the vital eight and four success over Sue Sharpe and Margaret Sanderson.
Drax 'A' picked up an easy 9-0 whitewash win over Selby 77 in men's division one. Scott Anderson and Dennis Bradley topped the Drax averages with three straight wins for 99-29.
IT Sports visited Shepherds in men's one and were good value for a 7-2 victory. Paul Blackett and Mark Hopwood took the vital maximum with a return of 102-69, including a 14 and nine over Tim Ross and David Simpson, who took two home wins.
Students 'A' were given a tough match by Rowntree 'A' before winning 5-4 in mixed division one.
Nick Burton and Sue Cooper took the match-winning maximum for 96-56 including the vital ninth where they beat Craig Dobson and Kath Watt nine and five.
In their next match, Students 'A' beat a two pairing Clifton 'A' 7-2. Best rubber of the match was the University's Ros Ellis and Nick Burton who beat Kevin Davison and Lorraine Ellis 15-17 15-8 15-13.
Drax 'A' travelled to Riverside in mixed one and were untroubled in scoring a 9-0 win. Phil Brunyard and Julie Smythe topped the Drax returns with three straight wins for a return of 90-50.
Millthorpe kept up their good run of late with a 5-4 home win over Drax 'B' in mixed two. Keith Burrows and Anne Casper made the difference with three wins for 105-69 including a 17-14 15-11 over Adam Prescott and Sue Matchett.
Pocklington 'A' were pushed hard by Sheriff Hutton before winning 5-4 in mixed two. Mark Burrows and Sally Howat proved to be the home side matchwinners with three win for 92-49 including a 15-10 17-16 over Dave Grieve and Jo Wade.
Tadcaster 86 enjoyed success with an 8-1 home win over YUSC 'A' in mixed three. Pat Sinker and Steve Sumner were the home side's topscorers with three straight wins for 90-51.
St John's scored two away wins in mixed five, an 8-1 win over Knavesmire 'B' was followed by a 7-2 win over Market Weighton. Chris Miller and Lindsay Spicer took Student Teacher maximums in both matches for a six rubber total of 190-110.
Selby Jubilee 'B' scored an easy 9-0 home win over Middlethorpe in mixed division five. Pete Lund and Marion Woolforth took the best return of the match with three straight wins for 90-35.
