AS yet, no one has created a virtual football club chairman. But the Evening Press went close last night when we launched Douglas Craig into cyberspace.
The York City FC chairman has always enjoyed a turbulent relationship with the fans. So it is to his great credit that he agreed to talk to them directly, via our Internet site.
Considering City's precarious league position, it was no surprise that the questions were tough and heartfelt. Mr Craig never sought to evade them, and answered many in typically robust style.
The debate will be devoured by the City faithful far and near. Mr Craig's openness mirrored that of his predecessor in the Internet hotseat, Railtrack boss Robin Gisby. It is bound to provoke further heated argument.
