York RI are even more in the relegation mire following a thrashing in a vital six-pointer.

RI, rock bottom of the West Yorkshire League premier division, entertained third-bottom Nostell Miners Welfare, but were hammered 7-1, a result which leaves them five points adrift of safety with 13 games to play.

Nostell stormed into a 5-0 lead after only 20 minutes and although RI reorganised their defence, the damage was well and truly done.

Nostell struck a further two times before Lee Bond notched a consolation with 15 minutes left.

All other games featuring local sides in the WYL, Northern Counties East League and UniBond League were called off due to the inclement weather.

Harrogate Railway's home NCEL premier division clash with Alfreton, rescheduled for tonight, is also subject to an afternoon pitch inspection.

If the game gets the go-ahead, Railway will be without Steve Hartley and Adam Tye, who are both unavailable through work commitments. John Galliphant will come up from the reserves.

Railway: from Old, Walker, White, McLean, Ames, Groves, Middleton, Flynn, Wrigley, Smitheringale, Whalley, Edwards, Galliphant.

York City's youngsters beat their Lincoln City counterparts 3-0 on Saturday in a Football League Youth Alliance fixture. Adam Russell scored twice and Daniel Barry once.
