WIGGINTON teenager Kathryn Cordell has been selected for the England Under-15s National Squad training weekend at Lilleshall.
The 14-year-old Joseph Rowntree School pupil (pictured) caught the eye in fine performances for Yorkshire in the recent Home International Challenge, where she recorded 3-0 wins against opponents representing Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
Cordell is presently ranked seventh in England at under-15s level and is hoping to force her way into the reckoning for the forthcoming European Junior (under-15) Championships in Sweden in May.
She has played the sport for four years and is coached in York by former York champion Steve Hodgson and in Pontefract by Malcolm Willstrop.
