WITH reference to the Coppergate II discussion, it seems to me that Tom Adams has come closest to finding a solution (January 30).
An uncontrolled open park is clearly out of the question and a large scale retail area would not be in keeping with the Clifford's Tower/Museum complex.
The whole charm of York lies in narrow streets leading out into squares - something the Adams vision would echo, though on a larger scale. This concept must surely provide a basis for future development.
