TWO very different forms of courage were recognised today at the child of achievement awards.
Selby five-year-old Zoe Smith's enthusiasm and cheer remain constant despite the daily struggle of coping with a serious heart problem.
Hannah Timms, from Harrogate, is not ill: her mother is. And Hannah has devoted the last two years of her young life to caring for her mum. It is a huge burden for a 12-year-old, but one she carries uncomplainingly.
Both girls are an inspiration to everyone, and their recognition today is richly deserved.
