I WRITE in response to City of York Council's plans to close Clarence Street Day Centre on Sundays ('Row Over Social Services Budget', January 27).

I use this centre and we really need it on a Sunday because weekends can be a lonely time when there are no nurses or social workers around. We are all very upset. None of the staff knew this was going to be proposed, so it sounds like it's been leaked to somebody. We are glad the Evening Press has brought it to our attention.

We want it kept open and will be writing to the city council about this issue.

Bedale House,
