Proposals on how to bring much-needed cash into York Wasps coffers will be discussed at a meeting tonight - and the fans are being asked to go along.

The Wasps want anyone with ideas on how to increase club funds to attend the informal get-together along with players, coach Lee Crooks and club officials.

The idea for the meeting came from chief executive Ann Garvey and Carol Handley, the mother of Wasps player Paddy Handley.

"Carol has volunteered to help us out and she's got some good ideas," said Garvey.

"The two of us decided to hold this meeting to pick people's brains as regards fundraising events and find volunteers to help organise them, and I'm very grateful for her help.

"It will be very informal. People have rung me with some ideas and we're just asking people to come along and put their ideas forward."

The meeting will take place in the bar at Huntington Stadium, starting at 8.30pm.
