Heavy overnight rain in Gloucestershire saw York City's Nationwide Division Three League clash at Cheltenham postponed earlier today.

Football League referee Phil Prosser carried out an inspection at 9.30am and deemed the pitch unplayable due to waterlogging.

The match has already been postponed once - on December 30 although on that occasion is was due to a frozen pitch.

It leaves City with a mounting fixture headache.

On Saturday, City saw their home encounter with Darlington also postponed due to a waterlogged Bootham Crescent pitch.

However, that game has now been rearranged for Tuesday, March 13 (7.45pm).

Adding to the frustration for City manager Terry Dolan, anxious to boost the match fitness of a number of his squad, the Minstermen's reserve team match with Sheffield United at Bootham Crescent tomorrow night is also in doubt.

A pitch inspection will be staged at 10am tomorrow.

City's match preparations had been hindered by the bad weather again. The first-team squad had to train in the gym on Sunday and the Wigginton road training pitches were still boggy for yesterday's session.

* Questions for York City chairman Douglas Craig have already started to flood in.

The Minstermen supremo has agreed to go on-line with the Evening Press and take part in an Internet question and answer session.

If you have a question for the chairman then e-mail them to City reporter Dave Stanford at dave.stanford@ycp.co.uk before noon on Thursday.

Please included your full-name and address, although the latter will not be published.

The chairman's replies will be posted on this website at 5.30pm on Monday, February 12.

There are plans to have some live question and answers with the chairman on Monday night too.
