A woman driver was taken to Scarborough District Hospital with serious facial injuries after the car she was driving was involved in a three-vehicle smash at Scagglethorpe, near Malton, yesterday.
The woman, who has not been named, was driving a Renault Clio which was involved in a collision with a Toyota Corolla resulting in her vehicle being pushed into the path of a Volvo HGV, travelling east along the A64.
Several other drivers thought to have been involved in the accident, which took place just after 1.30pm at the junction with the A64 at Scagglethorpe, left the scene of the crash.
Police are appealing for witnesses to telephone Malton police on 01723 509612.
