I WRITE to ask your readers for their help this year with Marie Curie Cancer Care's annual Daffodil Appeal in February and March. Giving a donation and wearing a daffodil supports local Marie Curie nurses.
A team of 76 Marie Curie nurses work throughout North Yorkshire.
It provides a unique service of specialised and personal nursing care for cancer patients in their own homes, mostly involving an all-night stay in your local area.
This service is completely free to the patient and his or her family.
We need volunteers to help in all sorts of ways. To display a box of daffodils in a busy shop; sell them at work; deliver daffodils to local outlets; or perhaps spare a couple of hours in March to join our band of street collectors. Collections are scheduled for March 3 in York, March 10 in Malton and various other dates throughout the county. Your help will make all the difference in funding local services to cancer patients and their families, so please phone the North Yorkshire Fundraising Office on 01904 621000.
