SO Mr Baldock seeks to defend Peter Mandelson (Letters January 27); only a foolish general would try to defend a position which is indefensible.
Politics apart, Mr M was found out, not once, but twice telling porkies.
His 'machinations' appear to be mainly concerned with being economical with the truth. However, being a politician I'm sure he will be back, liar or not.
