Councillors in York tonight approved an application for a controversial adult shop to become a fully-fledged sex shop.
The application for a sex shop licence for The Adult Shop in Gillygate, York, was overwhelmingly approved despite opposition from the neighbouring Salvation Army.
The application came only two weeks after the shop's owner, Nick Griffin, was convicted of selling blue videos which were tamer than customers expected.
